I walked this trail in 2024 and it is one of my favourites. The Pfälzer Waldpfad officially begins in Kaiserslautern and proceeds southwards to Schweigen-Rechtenbach near the border with France which is also the end of the Pfälzer Weinsteig. I have added an optional detour to historical Wissembourg where it is easier to catch a train, however Schweigen Rechtenbach is also a nice place to end the hike. The walk (or bus) from there to Wissembourg isn’t far.
